Gear Diary Heart and Breath Rate Monitoring App for Android is Now Enhanced with Finger Pressed Feature photo

Not too long ago, I was overweight.  Not fat–or at least, people kept insisting that I wasn’t fat–but for a guy who’s always been skinny, I felt fat.  Unfortunately, I have a plate in neck and chronic post-surgical pain, so I’m “not allowed” to do anything genuinely strenuous.  No soccer, ultimate frisbee, or even running (the impacts) biking (craning the neck–bad!) or swimming (having to constantly turn your head to the side).  It sucks.  But:  fat!  So I started walking.  A lot.  On trails and such, to force myself to work harder.  And yeah, my weight came down (slowly).  But the thing I definitely noticed was how much my heart rate came down, too.  And indeed, my doctor told me that I should get a heart rate monitor, and keep track of that on a regular basis.  Which comes to our little piece of news for today, Android device owners:

Health mobile app developer Facion Team proudly announced today that What’s My Heart Rate has been released through Google Play.

“What’s My Heart Rate” is a touchless mobile app that measures user’s heart rate and breath rate through camera. By just looking at the screen for a short second, the app instantly displaying the user’s current heart rate and breath rate results.

Today, “What’s My Heart Rate” is further enhanced with a new feature, namely the Finger pressed feature. By utilizing back camera and LED, user may now measure his/her heart rate by placing his/her finger gently over the camera. Just a couple of seconds, the heart rate results will be shown on the display.

This enhanced feature provides a much greater flexibility to the app to deliver the most accurate readings under whatever condition, even under the dark room environment.

This feature is useful to act as complement method over current touchless face measurement method. As under dark room environment, touchless face measurement might not work correctly. Finger pressed couples with bright LED, may help to compensate such shortcoming.

For more information, including FAQ, can be found on “What’s My Heart Rate” website, www.whatsmyheartrate.com. “What’s My Heart Rate” mobile app can be directly downloaded from Google Play. The app is completely free, with advertising supported.

Surf on over and check it out (it’s also available for Windows Phone and iOS); after all, it’s free!  And if you get it, be sure to tell us what you think below!
